Outreach

Our Community

P.A.D.S.  (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)

Our church community feeds, shelters and cares for as many as 40 homeless people on Tuesday of each month from October through April.  Other churches and organizations share the hosting at our site on rotating weeks.

FOOD PANTRY

The Itasca Food Pantry provides food and household essentials to families in need.  The Itasca Food Pantry is open every Saturday from 9 - 11 AM and volunteers from the First Presbyterian Church of Itasca are responsible for staffing during the months of May and November.  The Itasca Food Pantry is served by local churches and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

ITASCA WALK-IN MINISTRY

The people of our faith communities and service organizations unite in partnership to provide compassionate, effective, non-duplicated emergency assistance to people in need within our community.  For additional information, you can contact Itasca Walk-In Ministry directly at 630-467-0133, or visit their website http://itasca.com/1225/Walk-In-Ministry

GOD'S NEW THING

God's New Thing is a committee of people that reach out to our community.  Our ministry includes events like hosting the annual Blessing of the Animals service at Usher Park and the Water bottle give-away at the annual Food Trunk Fair to benefit ICOT, Walk-in Ministry and PADS.  We actively look for ways we can make a difference and carry God's light to our neighborhood. Watch for us in the Itasca Memorial Day Parade!

A Light in the Neighborhood and Around the World

We at the First Presbyterian Church of Itasca reach out to our local communities as well as our international friends through mission giving and projects.

Blessing of the animals at usher park

Every October, God's New Thing hosts a non-denominational service for a "Blessing of the Animals".
